About the Administrative Development

The Department of Administrative Development has been established on 05/07/1408 AH decreed by the High Command No. 7/11008 / AD on 21/5/1410 AH. His Excellency the Rector issued the administrative decision No. 2126/502 dated 26/12 /1416 AH. Article (1) provides that the Administrative Development Department shall undertake the following tasks:

  1. Proposing the organizational structure of the Department of Administrative Development and its subsidiary units, and organizing its work pending upon the Royal Decree No. 7/11008/AD dated 21/5/1410 AH.

  2. The decision of the Higher Committee for Administrative Reform No. 192 of 12/05/1410 AH; and the Regulations of the Higher Education Council and its executive regulations.

  3. Scrutinizing and determining the training needs of administrators, technicians and other university’s staff in cooperation and coordination with the competent authorities.

  4. Proposing the necessary plans and programs for the training and scholarships of the university’s staff in various fields, in the light of the bylaws, regulations and actual training needs.

  5. Cooperating and coordinating with authorities with jurisdiction.

  6. Following up the implementation of these programs after their endorsement.

  7. Preparation of ambitious and creative training programs that gives extra attention and care towards training competent university caders according to the needs of the university to keep pace with technical development.

  8. Preparation of periodic reports on the progress of the training courses, prior to submitting them to the authorities with jurisdiction.

  9. Codifying and developing the necessary procedures respecting scholarships for the University’s administrative employees and technical staff.

  10. Updating coordination mechanisms with other administrative bodies concerned with training and scholarships.

  11. Conducting organizational studies for the university and update the regulatory evidences whenever necessary.

  12. Developing and following up the work’s regulations, and presenting suggestions for their development.

  13. Facilitating administrative, financial and technical work procedures at the university, to design and develop the models used to facilitate that, and to edit and update the procedures manual.

  14. Following up on the care of the equipment, tools and office devices utilized at the university, along with preparing studies to rationalize their use and prepare the technical modes of disposing of them.

  15. From those equipment, proposing what is appropriate for the purposes of the university, and the appropriate ways to maintain them.

  16. Establishing mechanisms and models for following up and evaluating the university’s staff performance, preparing and submitting the necessary reports to the concerned authorities.

  17. Create an information base through which the assembling, classification and preservation of all information that helps the administration in performing its duties in a highly professional manner.

  18. Preparing of administrative forms and methods that contribute to work’s upgrading, and act in response to all new developments, commissioned by the University’s administration.

  19. Preparing of periodic and annual reports on the work of the administration and all its activities.

     

The administrative decision No. 12149/502 dated 15/10/1419 AH. was issued by His Excellency the Rector of the University:

Article (1) stipulates that the Administrative Development Department shall assume the following purviews:

(A) Training administrators and technicians as well as sending them on scholarships:

The duties and responsibilities of the Department of Administrative Development in the field of training and scholarships include:

A.1) Study and determine the training needs of the administrators and technicians at the university in cooperation and coordination with the different university sectors.

A.2) To propose the necessary plans and programs for training the staff and sending them on scholarships in view of the university’s systems, regulations and the actual training needs.

A-3) Implementation of training programs in cooperation with the candidates nominated by colleges and university’s units to participate with the department as trainers.

A.4 Follow-up upon the trainees throughout their training, prepare periodic reports on the progress of their training, receive their results then report them to their respective sectors at the university.

The Administrative Decree; No. 3616 dated 2/5/1406 AH; was issued regarding job description plan at the university pertaining to the Department of Administrative Development.

The decision of the Supreme Committee for Administrative Reform No. 193 dated 18/11/1409 AH, was issued pertaining to assigning of tasks related to organization and training to any administrative unit in each governmental institution appointed to (administrative development) and linked to the top leadership within the system.

The Administrative Decree; No. 12526/502 dated 26/12/1416 AH; was issued to specifying the administrative development management functions.
